Waikato Region

The Waikato region is one of the largest regions in NZ, it covers from the Bombay hills in the North down to the Kaimai Ranges and Mt Ruapehu in the south.

It includes some amazing's areas like Lake Taupo, Rotorua, Waitomo and Tokoroa in the south of the region. It stretches up to the Coromadel, Waihi and Port Waikato in the north with stunning locations like Matamata, Hamilton and Raglan in the middle of the region.

An interesting fact about this region is that Rotorua sits half in the Waikato region and half in the Bay of Plenty region. The region also gets it name from the mighty Waikato river which runs through the region.

Although we have only had a few fleeting visits to this region we definitely feel in love with it and can not wait to explore it some more as soon as we can.

Like other areas of NZ we have broken this region down into sections to help make it easier for you to navigate around.
