Christchurch Gondola
Check out the amazing views over Christchurch city from the top of the Gondola.
While in Christchurch for our daughters birthday we went up the Gondola to check out the views, It did not let us down.
We jumped on and headed up the hill, we picked an amazing day to go and the views were perfect!!
It was also really interesting to see the rocks and earth that had moved in the 2011 earthquakes. We actually lived in Christchurch at the time and had not been up their since, it was really interesting.
The kids grinned ear to ear the whole way up they loved it !
Once up the top we went and checked out the time tunnel ride which was pretty cool.
Its a short but informative ride, the kids loved spotting the Moa and also the part about the boat, they thought we wee cart ride that went around was awesome.
After that we went out to check out the view, and boy were their some awesome views !!! you could see for miles and it was really neat spotting different landmarks out in front of us.
There is a nice cafe at the top that would make a good spot for morning tea or lunch, we had just treated the kids to a Glamour Cakes Donut in Lyttleton yummo !! but the food looked really nice.
Then it was time to head back down again, we did not spend to long exploring, you could go and have a look around the hill a bit but our kids were just to excited to go on the ride back down again.
If you have the time their are a few walks you can do and you can also walk back down to the bottom as well, i think we will have to go back again in the summer to explore some more.
The kids loved it !! we picked a great day to see the views. If you are planning to go their I would suggest keep your day flexible so you can head up on a nice clear day and make the most of it.
