Grove Arm Lookout
Fantastic walk up to the most beautiful views of the Queen Charlotte sounds.
This beautiful walk at the start of the Queen Charlotte track is a great one to get a bit of a taste of the beauty that the Queen Charlotte has to offer. This walk is a good one to do as a family, walk to the view point at the Grove Arm then back down to Anikiwa for a swim or to jump off the Jetty
Starting at Anikiwa bay the track takes your 35min to walk through to Davies/Umungata bay this makes for a great wee stop for kids to have a snack before heading up to the the look out. Davies/Umungata bay has picnic tables and toilets great for kids aswell.
From here you wind your way up towards the lookout, though steep in parts its is a nice gradual climb not to challenging for kids.
Once you reach the top you will get some beautiful views of the Queen Charlotte sounds, you can see all the way back to Anikiwa, across the bay to Momorangi Bay and even out to Allports Island where you can spot the ferries heading in and out of Picton Harbour.
At the viewpoint look out there are seats and picnic tables to rest on and lots of information panels about your surrounding area.
After taking in the view you can head back to Anikiwa bay for a well deserved swim and a jump or two off the Jetty.
