Motuweka Pathway
This short walk takes you to the head of the Havelock Marina inlet, it is a great bird watching area as well.
This short walk in Havelock is a great stop if you need to stretch your legs, walking from down from the cemetery you weave for a short while though some beautiful bush then out on to the wetlands area.
From here you follow the path along the wetlands where you can stop and see lots of bird life along the way. After a short while you come out to the point and follow it alongside the marina. There is some great boat spotting for the kids here if they are interested in boats.
At the end of the point is a seat and a great view out to the harbour, you can see the boats come and go and look over towards the Cullen Point walk. There are also a few friendly mussel's hanging out as well.
This whole walk takes only about 30min return depending on how often you stop to bird or boat watch. It is a great one to do with young kids as there is plenty to look at and also pram friendly. Recently the Link pathway has completed another section of the track that link up with the Motuweka walk. So on your way back you can head of over the new and very impressive board walks and bridges to take you out to the start of the link path way walk.
